Our HIPPOBAGs come in three sizes, tailor-made to suit common household and trade jobs which aren’t completely optimised with a metal skip. You may initially think of hiring a skip to do the job; however do not do anything until you have read our guide to choosing between the two.
Round 1
Metal Skip: You must wait for delivery via truck which produces greater carbon emissions.
Skip bags: Can be purchased instantly from any good DIY retailer or posted straight to your front door!
Round 2
Metal Skip: You must apply for a permit before you can start your job.
Skip bags: Require no permit.
Round 3
Metal Skip: Are often bulky, rusty and un-slightly.
Skip bags: Keep your building area/driveway tidy and won’t damage your driveway.
Round 4
Metal Skip: Plasterboard cannot be put in a mixed stream skip.
HIPPOBAG: You can put plasterboard in our bags safe in the knowledge that it will be recycled in compliance with EA regulations.
Round 5
Traditional Skip: Must be delivered and collected by a truck which can be a noisy process and bad for the environment.
